About Donations

First, thanks to those of you who are back again, and thanks in advance to those of you who are about  to donate.  I am often surprised by the size of the donations and want to thank you for choosing to support such great causes.   So, for those of you new to donating herein, please read on.   Others click here.

As most people are aware, in order to receive a tax deduction for a donation they must donate to a non-profit, or a  501(c)(3) as they are also known.  Often those same donations are for rather large sums of cash, which of course would make it prudent to receive a tax deduction for the transaction.   More and more though we find people donating to causes without concern for receiving a deduction, usually giving smaller sums of money, yet nonetheless demonstrating the true act of giving.

Why Donate?

I personally give  without concern for receiving anything in return and, to my unexpected surprise each and every time, a reward shows up in some other way from some other place.   For example, I donate some of my time (which by the way the IRS values at "$0") to teach art to people who can't afford my normal rates, and I feel great before, during and after the experience, every time.  I also receive donations from organizations which I then pass on to the community.   I am fortunate, I know it, and I want to help those less fortunate enjoy their time on Earth, too.  Are you fortunate, too?

Of course the world is a big place, and there are alot of people who really need help.   It's easy to give them tangible gifts, perhaps more difficult for these same people to receive access to knowledge, the intangible.  Well, that's what I offer, and that's what the people I work with receive, intangible gifts.   The personal rewards for them are huge.  Same for me.  That said, it seems obvious that one person, namely myself, cannot finance the whole deal.  I need help with that, and that's where you can help.

Consider This

The money you donate will go to a variety of causes, such as workshops for children and teenagers, art classes for seniors, and artistic training for adults who are unable to afford any kind of instruction.  It's kind of amazing the way peoples lives improve (quite dramatically) when they are exposed to new and different ways of looking at the world through artmaking.  I've witnessed it time and time again.  The cause is going strong.  Please help me continue to make this happen.
