The Fine Art of Imagination

Other trompe l'oeil murals and works of art by jonsson :
This piece required finding the solution to a windowless dining room, the result of splitting one large room into two rooms -- creating a dining room without windows. The trompe l'oeil painting takes up the entire wall of the formal dining room, creating the illusion of a vast amount of lush outdoor space and a sense of privacy and wealth through the illusion of a large, fully manicured outdoor terrace.  It also provides the patrons and guests with the feeling of light coming into the space naturally from the
outdoors at twilight.

Jonsson:
"When I painted Fifth Avenue Terrace I initially used only primary colors (red, blue, yellow).  Theory has it that all colors can be created with the primaries plus black and white.  As I neared completion of the painting I began using pre-mixed colors, especially for the foliage and fabric.   Most of the painting though proves that it is not only theory, but entirely possible to paint using only primaries."
