This pencil portrait is of a gentleman who is well liked and well respected by many. As an educator to students and friends, his insights are treasured, surpassed only by his sense of humor.
Jonsson:
"The amazing thing about portrait work is that it always reveals more about the subject than you could possibly imagine. During this portrait session, for example, my patron's facial expression changed from being animated and
energized when we spoke about life in general, to the look you see at left as we discussed his role as educator in the world. I could see the wisdom, you know, the look a person has on their face when they are very wise. Also, the protective shield, which most people have in place when they come into contact with alot of people during their day, was quietly dropped, leaving this wise yet vulnerable man sitting before me."
