Having a portrait drawn was one of the essentials during this gentleman's visit to the United States. His portrait captures the exact expression his face seemed to display before, during and after the portrait session.
Jonsson:
"Portrait work always intrigues me. I'm suddenly out of the world of 'the imagined'. You have to
capture the likeness, but also the expression matching your patron's personality. The real test of portraits is when a friend of the patron sees the portrait. They must see their friend's personality in the portrait. Likeness is about technique. Capturing personality determines the quality of the piece and the artist."
