(continued from above)   ...or have a glimpse into each period,  you can see the evolution of the artist. What was the artist searching for?  What was the artist's quest?  What were they studying?  Which style or styles did the artist work in?  What was he or she 'talking' about?  You begin so see that there was a definite starting point, followed by a defined pattern of development.  WIthin that pattern of development each period reveals the focus of artistic study going on at the particular time the work was created.  This pattern is chrono- logical and auto-biographical, in that it reflects various aspects of the art's creator as well as the creator's artistic growth.  Alot of factors in the artist's life and career lead up producing any given work of art.

My own career began with realistic and fantasy drawings (based on realism) and has progressed over the years.  I've moved, if you will, from the abstractionism camp to the realism camp (and back...and forth) many, many times.  I've cross the 'ism' borders so often that you'll find Realism, Abstractionism, Surrealism, Impressionism, and even undefined 'isms' among my total body of work.  This can make it difficult at first to identify one of my paintings, or other works of art, at a glance.  Look for a bit longer though and you'll see what gives each piece it's "signature Jonsson look". The samples of my artwork shown in this section begin with work completed in 1984 and move through to the present.  I hope you enjoy them and get a sense of the progression that is my career."
