First I moved to Manhattan, where excellent professors at SVA (School of Visual Arts) taught me to paint and draw very realistically.  The process itself, painting realistically, became too tight though. So as crazy as this might sound, I left it behind.  (Matisse and Picasso, originally Realists, did the same.)  Next I became a commissioned artist in Manhattan.   Then I discovered 'new territory', and found  patrons who love my art and who get why...

1) I paint and draw from memory and imagination only.

2) I show the way a person, place or other subject feels.

3) I rarely paint the same way twice.

I continue to live and create art in San Francisco's Pacific Heights.
